A 2-Week online, asynchronous, training course on how to design, implement, and manage high quality online discussions. Pedagogical tactics on building a learning community, advancing student learning in the forums, managing challenging students, and creating advanced forms of engaging discussions will all be addressed. Participants design an advanced discussion tactic for use in one of their own courses. This is a pass/fail course, no grading. It is designed instead with peer-to-peer learning and feedback, and reflective learning cycles based on peer-feedback. Content is appropriate for both the beginner and veteran of online learning.
